21 year old rig worker found unresponsive at site south of Grande Prairie

Alberta Occupational Health and Safety has concluded the death of a rig worker south of Grande Prairie Sunday was not workplace related.

The 21 year old Precision Drilling employee had finished his shift as a floorhand at 7 a.m. and went to his room after breakfast.

He wasn’t heard from after that and when someone went to check on him, he was found unresponsive in his room.

RCMP responded to the Tourmaline Oil Corporation site 125 kilometres south of the city, and the man’s death has been ruled medical in nature.
