City supports conceptual corridor between Peace River and Fort McMurray

The City of Grande Prairie is formally supporting the concept of a corridor between Fort McMurray that would at least see a highway built between the cities.

Councillor Kevin McLean argues a link to up north is overdue and should be a high priority for the province.

“I believe within the next ten years that road should be built. There should be no delays, the road should be built, and it should be part and parcel of taxpayers and the industry.”

Also approved at Monday’s City Council meeting was the renewal of eight Fire Dispatch Agreements and the continuation of the Community Garden in its current location.
