Wings of Mercy looking for volunteers to search for person missing since January

Wings of Mercy is looking for volunteers to help with a pair of civilian searches planned to look for Tommy Harrington.

The 20-year-old has been considered missing since the evening of January 5th, when he was believed to have been with his pickup truck on the Cinch Road, 70 kilometres north of the Hamlet of Grande Cache.

Harrington’s truck was found stuck within sight of Highway 40, but Harrington hasn’t been heard from since.

Organizer Shane Michaels says he has kept a close eye on the case from afar and is hoping to pull in a vast array of people to lend a hand.

“Tommy’s case was one of those cases that we wanted to see if we couldn’t get a lot more resources put into it because it’s out in the middle of nowhere, and it’s hard to get people out there.”

He says they’ve got a good base of ready to go volunteers, but they will always accept more help.

“One of our team leaders and two drone pilots are going to be out there for sure, then a couple of other for sure, ground search folks that are close to our inner group. Then, whatever we can gather outside of that we will happily gather in.”

He adds that they are also looking for supplies as well. Michaels says they are hopeful to receive donations of water, snacks, bug spray, as well as drones, ground searchers and ATV’s.
