Four people facing drug charges after police search local hotel room

Four people are facing drug charges after police searched a room at a Grande Prairie Hotel.

On July 29th, mounties executed a search warrant and said they found 43 grams of cocaine, 60 grams of crystal meth and 51 grams of pot along with heroin, mushroom pills and fentanyl. Police say they also found a loaded handgun, a pellet gun and brass knuckles.

31-year-old Alec Levin, 22-year-old Julia King and 35-year-old Joseph Read, all of Grande Prairie and 36-year-old Andrew Pysar of Canmore have been charged with multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

All the suspects will remain in custody until their court dates. King, Read and Pysar were scheduled to appear on July 31st. Levin is scheduled to appear in court on August 7th.
