Three local artists up for Canadian Country Music Awards

Three country artists from the area have been nominated for Canadian Country Music Awards.

Grande Prairie singer Tenille Townes​ has the most nominations out of the three picking up ones for Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Anthem Entertainment Songwriter of the Year and Video of the Year.

Spirit River native Aaron Goodvin is up for Interactive Artist or Group of the Year. Goodvin, who performed for the first time ever as a child at the Prairie Mall, is coming off a CCMA win last year for Songwriter of the year for his song Lonely Drum.

Finally, La Crete export High Valley made up of brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel are up for Group or Duo of the Year.

The CCMAs will be held at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary on September 8th.
