Rony Rajput to run as independent in upcoming election

Another candidate has thrown his hat in the ring for the upcoming election. Rony Rajput will be running for the Grande Prairie riding as an independent candidate.

“I am running for MLA because I desire to make Grande Prairie a safer place to live. I believe the only way to accomplish that is by creating a better management system that is people oriented.”

Rajput is no stranger to politics. He ran for mayor of Grande Prairie in 2017. That was until he withdrew from the race after it was discovered that he lived outside of city limits in Whispering Ridge.

He currently owns the Towne Centre Liquor and Wine Store in Grande Prairie. He is up against the Alberta Party’s Grant Berg, Alberta Independence Party’s Ray Robertson, NDP’s Todd Russell, UCP’s Tracy Allard and Freedom Conservative Party candidate Bernard Hancock.
