UPDATE: Checked bag screening back up at Grande Prairie Airport

UPDATE: CATSA says the checked bag screening equipment at the Grande Prairie Airport is back in service. Travellers had been asked to arrive an hour earlier for flight as their X-rays had been down since Thursday and luggage was being checked manually.

Travellers flying out of the Grande Prairie Airport are still being asked to arrive two hours before their scheduled departure time.

CATSA, the national security authority, has asked for patience while they try to diagnose the problem with luggage screening equipment.

The X-rays for checked bags have been down since late last week, meaning security has to go through luggage manually.

Passengers only taking a carry-on don’t have to worry, as the departure lounge screening area is not affected.
