Arrest made in 2017 Pouce Coupe homicide

An arrest has been made in connection with a suspicious death in Pouce Coupe, B.C. last year. Dawson Creek RCMP and the North District Major Crimes Unit took a man into custody at a home in the Charlie Lake area on December 8th.

Police started looking into the death of 55-year-old Dawson Creek resident Troy Streeper on February 17, 2017. A charge of manslaughter wasn’t laid until December 7th of this year, and a warrant for the arrest of Jessie Romeo Fougere was issued.

“It is believed that Mr. Fougere and Mr. Streeper were known to each other,” says Corporal Madonna Saunderson.

Officers say an RCMP Emergency Response Team had to be brought in to contain the Charlie Lake home where the suspect was believed to be Saturday. It’s reported there was an extensive negotiation, that ended with the ERT going into the home and arresting Fougere.
