UPDATE: Stolen vehicle found after assault and robbery

UPDATE: Police have located both vehicles involved. They are still looking for the two suspects.

Grande Prairie RCMP is on the hunt for men accused of assaulting two teens and stealing their vehicle. The robbery is said to have happened when the boys were parked at kilometre 17.5 of the Canfor Road south of Grande Prairie around 1 a.m. Saturday.

It’s alleged a white Ford truck drove up and two men got out. They approached the teens with what looked like guns, and reportedly threatened and assaulted them before stealing their vehicle and driving off.

The RCMP says another vehicle driving by picked the boys up and brought them to hospital. They were both injured in the attack but their condition has not been made public.

The suspects are both described as Aboriginal with slim builds. They were driving a newer white, 4-door Ford F-150 with a regular cab and a short box. The truck had a sunroof, a halo strip around its headlights, a black or grey stripe from the headlights back, after market 12 spoke rims and its mirrors tucked in.

The stolen vehicle is described as a blue 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt with the Alberta license late BZZ 9365. Anyone with information on the assault and robbery is asked to contact the Grande Prairie RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
