High Prairie driver caught speeding 182 km/h near Boyle

A High Prairie man could be in hot water over an excessive speeding ticket. A highway patrol officer reportedly clocked his vehicle going 182 kilometres an hour in a 100 kilometre an hour zone near Boyle.

A member of the RCMP-Alberta Sheriffs Boyle Integrated Traffic Unit was on patrol on Highway 831 just before 10 p.m. on September 23rd when they say they spotted the vehicle speeding. Radar was used to verify how fast it was going.

The 25-year-old driver is due in Boyle Provincial Court on November 27th. The RCMP says a conviction for speeding more than 50 kilometres an hour over the speed limit can come with a maximum fine of $2,300 and a driving suspension of up to 90 days.
