The RCMP believes it has arrested the man who held up the Jackpot Grill last month. A 24 year old has been charged with robbery with a firearm and appeared in court Wednesday.
A suspect with a gun robbed the Chinese restaurant in the Richmond Industrial Park around 5:45 p.m. on July 30th. He was able to run off with an undisclosed amount of cash and no one was hurt.
Police released a description and surveillance footage to the public a few days later. Constable Melanie McIntosh says tips from the public help lead to the arrest.
“Information from the community played a significant role in identifying the accused and RCMP would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance.”
The restaurant initially released a statement thanking its customers for their support following the robbery. It says it has since reviewed its safety procedures.
