Man arrested on warrants out of Peace River

A man wanted on warrants out of Peace River has been arrested. The Eastern Alberta Rural Crime Reduction Unit and mounties from Desmarais took the 32 year old into custody without incident in the Wabasca area on August 19th.

The man was wanted for eight charges, including two counts of break and enter, as well as trafficking property obtained by crime, possession of property obtained by crime, fraud, identity fraud, using a forged document, and failing to attend court. He is also facing two new charges of failing to comply and obstructing a peace officer.

“Crime reduction is a priority for the Alberta RCMP,” says Corporal Ronald Bumbry. “Targeting repeat offenders and crime trends will allow us to impact crime in the province and increase community safety.”

A court date has been set in Peace River for September 17th and Wabasca-Desmarais Provincial Court on September 20th.
