Traffic downtown Grande Prairie will be further interrupted for the next week. Southbound traffic on 100 Street from 101 Avenue to 99 Avenue will be down to one lane starting Thursday.
The City says the lane closure should last for roughly one week. Crews will be replacing the underground water, storm, and sanitary lines as part of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project. 100 Avenue is still closed from 100 Street to 101 Street and from 101 Street to 102 Street.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to follow detour signs and speed limits and to plan ahead to give themselves extra time to get through downtown. Northbound traffic on 100 Street shouldn’t be affected.
