Road work detours in the county start Wednesday

The county says they are set to begin work on some road projects around the region.

Starting Wednesday contractors will begin projects on Range Road 92 and Range Road 81.

The county will replace large culverts just north of Highway 672 on Range Road 92. Detours will be set up so traffic can get around the work. Drivers are advised to use Range Roads 91 and 92 for access between Township
Road 734 and Highway 672.

Also beginning Wednesday, the County will begin road repair work and ditch cleaning on Range Road 81 between Township Road 750 and Township Road 744. Detours will also be set up in the area. Drivers can use Range Roads 82 and 83 for access from Township Roads 750 and 744. The anticipated completion date of this project is June 24.

Both projects are expected to be finished by the end of the weekend but timelines are weather dependent. The county asks drivers to obey all signs and allow extra time for travel.

In 2018 the County of Grande Prairie is investing a total of $37.4 million on capital road projects.
