The prep work is complete and crews are ready to begin work on the third phase of the Downtown Rehabilitation Project.
The first stage of work will begin Monday in the area of 100 Avenue between 101 Street and 102 Street. New traffic lights have been added to control the flow of traffic through the area. Drivers are urged to allow more time to travel through construction zones and to watch detour signs.
The city is working to maintain front access to business as best they can. They have added more signage this year to help people navigate through the construction areas and still find the businesses they are looking for.
The city says the recognize the scale and impact projects like this can have. This phase has seen a number of additional steps being taken including early project tenders and improved communication with business owners and residents.
Construction is scheduled to end in October, 2018.
