The spring thaw has forced the closure of multiple roads in the County of Grande Prairie. Director of Public Works Dale Van Volkingburgh says the recent warm temperatures have led to water flowing over and flooding the roads.

So far, the areas affected are Range Road 73 from Township Road 721 to Township Road 722, Range Road 25 from Township Road 744 to Township Road 750, and Range Road 94 from Secondary Highway 672 to Township Road 730. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution in those parts, especially at night.

Anyone who comes across an area that needs immediate attention should contact the County’s 24 hour Public Works Emergency Line at 780-532-7393.
