Grande Prairie woman accused in “brazen” rural B&E

A Grande Prairie woman was allegedly involved in what RCMP are calling a “brazen” break and enter in Leduc County. Police say someone living in the rural area came home around 3 p.m. Wednesday to find four people suspected of breaking in.

As they tried to get away, the suspects reportedly rammed into the homeowner’s vehicle, sending it into the ditch. One person then tried to steal the victim’s truck, but it wouldn’t run. The driver wasn’t hurt.

RCMP say the four suspects tried to run away, but officers were able to arrest three of them a short time later. The fourth was arrested with the help of Police Dog Services after a chase on foot.

30 year old Erikka Marie Fred of Grande Prairie has been charged with break and enter, possession of break in tools, theft, resisting arrest, and breach of recognizance. All four remain in custody waiting for their bail hearings.
