Two people have been charged with the murder of an elderly man on the Woodland Cree First Nation. 69 year old William Raymond Merrier of Cadotte Lake was found dead in a home on Monday, January 29th.
An autopsy has determined his death was a homicide, but Corporal Hal Turnbull says his cause of death will not be made public, unless the case goes to trial. No further information on the crime has been released.
19 year old Chadd Cardinal of Cadotte Lake and a youth who cannot be named have both been charged with one count of second degree murder. Cardinal is set to appear in Peace River court on February 5.
