Man found dead following report of assault in Cadotte Lake

Two people are in custody as mounties investigate a death on the Woodland Cree First Nation. Peace Regional RCMP responded to a report of an assault in Cadotte Lake early Monday morning, and found a 69 year old man dead in a home.

RCMP Major Crimes and the Forensic Identification Section have been called in to investigate, along with local officers. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday in Edmonton to determine the man’s cause of death.

Police say the two suspects are being held at the detachment in Peace River, and investigators aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with the death. More information is expected to be released further into the case.
