Local boy Tanner Fritz made his NHL debut Tuesday night with the New York Islanders. The 26 year-old former Storm player was recalled from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League Monday.
According to their website Fritz has been leading the Tigers last season with 42 points. The Islanders signed Fritz to a two-way NHL/AHL deal in March 2016.
Fritz’s first time on the NHL ice ended with a loss. The Islanders fell to the Bruins 5-1.
