St. Joe’s Celtics take provincial bronze

For the first time since 2013, the St. Joe’s Celtics won’t be in the tier II provincial finals. The team fell 38 to 14 to the Lloydminster Barons in the Football Alberta northern final Saturday in Lloydminster.

The Barons will play the Foothill Falcons in the provincial final November 25th. They were ranked fourth in their division, while the Celtics were ranked first with no losses during the regular season.

Both the Peace Wapiti Academy Titans and the Sexsmith Sabres played regional semi-final games but lost to their opponents earlier this month. The Celtics were crowned Mighty Peace Football League champions for the fourth straight year with a victory over the Titans in the Peace Bowl.
