Influenza claims another life in Alberta

One more person has died from the flu in Alberta, bringing the total up to four early in the season. The latest death was in the Calgary zone, where there have already been two, along with one in Edmonton.

So far 132 people have been admitted to hospital in Alberta with the flu. More than 60 per cent them have been in the Calgary zone.

In Alberta Health Services’ north zone, there have been 22 lab-confirmed cases of influenza A this season, and three others where the strain is not yet known. 10 people have been admitted to hospital.
