Men's ball hockey teams face off in Grande Prairie for provincials

After the success of the women’s ball hockey provincials in Grande Prairie last weekend, it’s now the men’s turn.

24 teams from across the province will be facing off for the top spot in tiers 2-5.

Metro Sports administrates ball hockey leagues, and General Manager Craig Thiessen says he’s a Grande Prairie fan this weekend.

“Obviously I’d like to see some of our men on Grande Prairie teams come home with a medal, or possibly even see maybe one or two all Grande Prairie finals. The guys have the advantage of home cooking and sleeping in their own sheets, and that’s definitely a factor.”

The women did well last weekend, with Grande Prairie teams taking six out of a possible nine medals.

The action starts tonight at both the County Sportsplex and Dave Barr Arena.
