The Sears in Grande Prairie has officially closed. Spokesperson Vincent Power says the last day it was open to the public was Sunday, October 1st.
Power adds that some employees will be kept on for the next couple of weeks working to clean the building out. There are still some fixtures to be sold if anyone comes forward interested.
The Grande Prairie location had 111 staff members, most of them part-time, when it was announced it was closing back in June. Sears Canada is shuttering 59 across the country as part of a restructuring plan.
All other stores in Canada will stay open, along with their online store. Warranties will remain valid.
