A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. Environment Canada says a disturbance currently in northern B.C. should to move into northwestern Alberta this afternoon, bringing thunderstorms.
Some of them could become severe with large hail and strong wind gusts. Heavy rain is also possible.
It’s expected the thunderstorms will last into the evening, and could head southeast. Residents are reminded of the dangers of large hail and lightning.
