A Manning man has been killed in a crash near Okotoks. The 51 year old was walking along Big Rock Trail west of the community when he was hit by a westbound vehicle around 9:30 p.m. on July 19th.
RCMP say the 1998 Toyota Corolla had been trying to pass another vehicle at the time. It rolled and landed on its roof.
The driver was taken by ambulance to hospital for minor injuries while the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released by police.
An investigation into the fatal crash in underway, but mounties say they’ve already determined alcohol was not a factor. No charges have been laid, and while investigators say they’re not looking for any suspects, they are asking witnesses to come forward.
