Starting Tuesday, the city will be doing road work in the Royal Oaks area. Crews will be on 117th Avenue from 105th Street to 108th Street, and on 108th Street from 116th Avenue to Royal Oaks Drive.
Knelsen Sand and Gravel will be crushing up the old asphalt and base material, pulverizing it and mixing it with more asphalt, cement and water. That mixture is then compacted to create a new base for the road. Hot-mix asphalt will then be poured on top as a finish.
The speed limit in the area will be down to 30 kilometres an hour and there will be signs and flaggers on hand. Drivers are asked to be careful and watch for workers.
