An estimated $80,000 in damage has been done to a home in O’Brien Lake. The Grande Prairie Fire Department was called just after 6 p.m. Monday night after a neighbour coming home from work noticed flames coming from a garage on 60th Avenue. No one was home at the time.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly and damage was kept to the garage. No damage was done to any neighbouring homes.
A full investigation into what caused the blaze should wrap up Tuesday, but Platoon Chief Ben Sergeant says it’s not considered suspicious.
