Liquor store worker bear sprayed by robbery suspects

Two people have been arrested for bear spraying a liquor store employee in Whitecourt, and RCMP are on the lookout for another suspect and their getaway vehicle. The Pine Plaza Liquor Store was robbed around 9:45 p.m. Saturday night.

Three people had stolen a bottle of alcohol, and when the worker went outside to try to get their licence plate, she was sprayed. The suspects fled in a dark coloured SUV heading towards Fox Creek, and two were later found walking near that town.

The 27 year old man and 14 year old boy were arrested are in police custody waiting for a bail hearing. The third suspect and the SUV still haven’t been found.

The clerk was taken to the local hospital and has since been released. Anyone with info is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
