More charges laid against suspected drug dealer

A suspected cocaine dealer is facing more charges after another drug bust. Grande Prairie RCMP searched a home in the city on March 30th, turning up 132 grams of cocaine. They also found things that are normally used in trafficking cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and $2,420 in cash.

22 year old Aaron Bertrand of Grande Prairie was arrested at the home, and is now facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime less than $5,000, possession of a controlled substance, and five counts of failure to comply with recognizance.

He was charged with similar offences in January when officers found more cocaine, weed and cash in a vehicle he was driving. There is an outstanding warrant from those charges, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 24th.

Bertrand is scheduled to make his first appearance on his new charges on April 10th.
