Stolen property, guns found in Wembley

A gun stolen during a break and enter in the County of Grande Prairie and several other stolen things have turned up at a home in Wembley. Based on a tip, RCMP started investigating in mid-February and searched the home on March 16th.

Among the stolen items police found were things of sentimental value taken during a home invasion in Red Deer in January. Officers also turned up more than a thousand pharmaceutical pills, 91 grams of marijuana, 71.46 grams of cocaine, 1.575 litres of GHB, 27.89 grams of crystal meth and prohibited guns and other weapons.

“It’s always a good thing to remove stolen firearms from the community as it’s unknown how they’ll be used,” says Staff Sergeant Mike Lefebvre, NCO in charge of Grande Prairie RCMP’s General Investigation Section. “We’re grateful to the public for bringing any suspicious activities to our attention, assisting us in working towards having safer communities.”

41 year old Trent Douglas Hockett of Grande Prairie was arrested and has been charged with several drug, weapon, and stolen property offences. The personal property recovered will be returned to its owners in Red Deer and Hockett will appear in court on April 10th.
