A driver pulled over Saturday night in Grande Prairie blew nearly twice the legal limit. Their blood alcohol level was 0.15, earning them a charge for impaired driving.
RCMP stopped 500 vehicles that night during an Alberta-wide blitz. Two people were issued three-day suspensions for having a blood alcohol content over 0.05, and one new driver had their vehicle seized and got a 30-day suspension for having booze in their system. 16 other traffic-related charges have been laid.
If you think you see a drunk driver on the road, call 9-1-1. Police encourage you to plan ahead to make sure everyone is safe this holiday season.
