Celtics, Sabres get home field advantage for regional finals

Two local football teams are moving on to Football Alberta regional finals.

The St. Joe’s Celtica took their tier II semi-final against the Austin O’Brien Crusaders of Edmonton 13 to 7 on Saturday. Their next game will be at home against the Lloydminster Barons this Saturday. Kick off is at 2:30 p.m. at the Community Knowledge Campus Field.

The Sexsmith Sabres will play their tier IV finals just ahead of the Celtics at noon on the 19th. They beat the St. Paul Lions 37 to 13 in their semi-final. The Sabres will be up against the Stettler Wildcats.

The Peace Wapiti Titans fell 22 to 7 in their tier III semis against the St. Albert Sky Hawks, while in the minors, the Grande Prairie Raiders lost 51 to 32 against the Lloydminster Mustangs.
