Child injured in Fort St. John hit and run

A child was sent to hospital Friday night after being hit by a vehicle that left the scene without stopping. The collision happened around 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the London Bull Pub in Fort St. John.

The four year old was hit by a white SUV. The vehicle with an unknown plate then left southbound on 93 Street.

The child was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. However, Constable Nancy Saggar with the RCMP says the collision had the potential to cause serious harm.

“It is very concerning that the driver of the SUV would not remain on scene.”

Police are urging the driver to turn themselves in. Anyone with information regarding about the hit and run it the person responsible is asked to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
