Residents of Rycroft will likely be without water until supper time tonight. For the second time this week, a water main near the Public Works Shop has broken.
When it happened Monday, crews were able to fix it within a couple of hours, but Municipal Clerk Rachelle Piscopo says the damage to this section is much worse. The pipe is cracked with a hole, so the Village and Aquatera are replacing a 20 foot piece.
Parents of children at Rycroft School are being called and can give permission for their children to walk home if they’re within a close distance. Either that or they can pick them up or let them be bussed home at the end of the day.
People affected are asked to watch the Village’s website and Facebook page for updates.
