In about a month, construction of the South Montrose concourse should be complete. It includes a plaza at the south entrance to the Montrose Cultural Centre, a patio, and seating areas.
The $1.2 million project is the beginning of a larger plan to create a festival corridor along 101st Avenue to link the South Montrose site to the downtown core. The concourse will connect the cultural centre to a proposed performing and media arts centre.
Work started at the beginning of June, and despite all the rain this summer, the City says it’s on schedule.
