Case against accused serial bank robber drags on

There has been yet another delay in the criminal trial against Shaun Cornish. The 28 year old is accused of robbing nine banks across Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan in a two month period in late 2014 and early 2015.

His last hold up was at a financial institution in Dawson Creek on January 28th, and he was arrested two days later at a motel in Grande Prairie. According to a Kamloops This Week, Cornish was expected to plead guilty to seven of his charges in that city Monday, stemming from robberies in four B.C. cities.

However, his lawyer asked for more time to deal with additional charges that were recently laid. Cornish is also facing multiple other counts in all three provinces, causing his case to be slow going.
