UPDATE: The severe thunderstorm watch for Grande Prairie and the Peace region has ended.
A severe thunderstorm watch is again in effect for the Alberta Peace region and most of the province. Environment Canada says weather conditions could lead to dangerous thunderstorms with large hail and torrential rain possible.
They’re expected to start this afternoon and continue into the evening. A few may be severe.
Here in Grande Prairie, we’re looking at rain with a risk of a severe thunderstorm. A high of 24 is expected with wind gusting up to 40 kilometres an hour.

The city was hit by a thunderstorm Wednesday afternoon, and saw point-6 millimetres of rain fall over less than two hours.
