Encana Corporation has sold off its Gordondale assets in northwestern Alberta. A $625 million deal has been made with Birchcliff Energy.
It involves 54,200 net acres of land and associated infrastructure and is set to close this summer. The effective date would be retroactive to January 1st of this year.
Encana says it’s reducing its midstream and downstream commitments by more than $100 million and it had no drilling or capital plans for the area for 2016. The Gordondale area of the Montney reserve is roughly 100 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie.
