Grande Cache Correctional Institution has been on lockdown since Tuesday afternoon. It was put into place at 4:15 p.m. so staff members could do an “exceptional” search.
Few details have been released, but officials say the search is for the safety and security of the prison, its staff and inmates by preventing contraband from entering the facility. While the search is being done, visits have been suspended.
