Several charges have been laid against a 36 year old man in connection with a dangerous driving incident last week near Spirit River. Nashon Jaron Osborne was arrested on June 8th after RCMP responded to an impaired driving call.
He allegedly drove into a police cruiser, and then tried to run an officer down. The vehicle he was driving was found abandoned later on in the day and he was arrested nearby.
Osborne has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, driving while disqualified, assault on a peace officer with a weapon and mischief. He’ll appear in Grande Prairie court on June 29th.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team has also been called in to investigate, as a mountie’s gun was fired during the incident. No one was hurt.
