Earlier spring weather means earlier street sweeping in Grande Prairie and area. This year in the city street sweeping began in late March. Transportation services Manager Robert Carroll says they are way ahead of schedule with the usual start of sweeping not happening until May.
The city has already finished some roads and are now working on residential areas. Within the city, street sweeping will happen the day before garbage day in residential areas.
In the County, sweeping has begun this week in Whispering Ridge and Westlake subdivisions. Starting this Friday, Maple Ridge, Sandy Ridge, Lawra Estates, Green Acres, Willow Wood, and Wind Wood subdivisions will have street sweeping begin.
Residents are reminded to remove their vehicles from these roads when it is happening in their area.
