A woman has been killed in a house fire on the Atikameg First Nation. High Prairie RCMP and EMS responded to a severe fire at the home at 2:50 a.m. Sunday morning, along with volunteer firefighters from the Gift Lake Metis Settlement.
A 59 year old woman was found dead inside. Her name is not being released by police.
A fire investigator has been through the scene and an investigation is still active. Mounties can’t say at this point whether the fire is considered suspicious.
