Navigators crowned provincial champions

The North Peace Navigators are provincial champions. The Peace River Junior B hockey team won the Russ Barnes Trophy in Red Deer with a 3-2 victory over the Wainwright Bisons Sunday afternoon.

This is their first provincial championship after placing second in 2015 and bronze in 2014 and 2011. They’ll next head to Regina for the Keystone Cup in mid-April.

The Navs earned their spot at provincials with their third straight NWJHLL title in March.
