Ritchie Bros. auction largest ever in Grande Prairie

Multiple records were set at the Ritchie Bros. auction in Grande Prairie this week. At the end of the two-day event, more than $62 million CAD worth of equipment was sold to more than 7,150 registered bidders.

Both of those numbers are the highest ever for Grande Prairie, along with over $34 million sold to more than 4,500 online bidders. Just over half of the sales went to out-of-province-buyers, with 12 per cent from out of the country.

The first auction of the year is normally held in April, but this one was added to accommodate the dispersals of Pinnacle Services and Continental Pipelines and Facilities. In total, more than 2,500 items were sold.

An agricultural auction will be held in GP again on April 14th.
