PWSD announces new Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent

A new Deputy Superintendent for Peace Wapiti School Division has been named. Bob Stewart will be taking on the title as of May 1st this year. He served as the Assistant Superintendent Learning Services since 2014 and before that he was part of Inclusive Education from 2011 to 2014. He has been the Principal of many schools around the region including Clairmont Community School and Elmworth School. Stewart will replace outgoing Deputy Superintendent Mark Davidson who is moving onto Medicine Hat School District.

Taking over his spot as Assistant Superintendent Learning Services is Darren Young who became part of the Peace Wapiti School Division back in 2014 as the Principal of Harry Balfour School. Young has been involved in leadership roles throughout his career. He was formerly with Fort Vermillion School Division. He has experience on the PWSD’s Professional Development Committee as well as experience being part of the Whispering Ridge Community School Design Team.

Young will take on the position for the 2016-2017 school year.
