Weapon reported at Eastlink Centre turns out to be Airsoft gun

A report of someone with a gun had officers flying down to the Eastlink Centre this afternoon. When they got there, RCMP found the male they were looking for on a school bus.

It turns out the youth had an Airsoft gun in his backpack and there was no threat to the public. While the incident happened outside of the school, Charles Spencer High School says none of their students were involved.

This is the third incident involving weapons and schools in the Grande Prairie area in the past two days. Penson School in Grovedale was on alert after an armed robbery at the local General Store Wednesday afternoon and Hillside Community School was briefly put on lockdown this morning after reports of a suspicious man walking around with what looked like a firearm.
