Armed robbery at Grovedale General Store

An armed robbery was reported at the Grovedale General Store this afternoon. RCMP are on the scene but don’t have anyone is custody.

As a precaution, nearby Penson School locked its doors for the remainder of the school day and has staff outside supervising as children head home. The parents of students who normally walk were call to pick them up instead, and if their children take the bus, parents are asked to meet them at their bus stop.

Classes continued as usual as the “hold in place” protocol was used.
