Grande Prairie to host 55 Plus Alberta Provincial Winter Games in 2028

The City of Grande Prairie will be hosting the 55 Plus Alberta Provincial Winter Games.

In March of 2028, the city will welcome athletes aged 55 and older from across the province to share their passion for sport.

“The Games are also an excellent opportunity to showcase Grande Prairie, support our local businesses and bring new opportunity to our region,” said Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton.

“This event aligns with our Aging Well Together initiative, which created a clear path to enhance our community’s age friendliness, including highlighting the importance of creating welcoming places where people of all ages can thrive. We look forward to coming together with community partners, volunteers and residents to make the 55 Plus Alberta Provincial Winter Games a successful experience for everyone involved.”

More information about the games has yet to be announced.
