Falher Pirates advance to NPHL playoff semis

It took double overtime to get it done, but the Falher Pirates have swept the quarterfinals of the North Peace Hockey League playoffs. They beat the Manning Comets 4-3 Saturday to move on the the semis.

They’ll face the Grimshaw Huskies, who earned a bye with their first place spot in the east division at the end of the regular season. The same went for the Spirit River Rangers in the west.

They’ll play the winner of the match up between the Fort St. John Flyers and the Dawson Creek Canucks. The Flyers took a 2-1 lead Friday and will hope to finish the best-of-five series Tuesday on the road.
